Approving of a concert program except for the piano solos, which, "wegen Ungeübtheit," he does not wish to play, asking if a choral piece should not be put in their place; the program would then consist of the Faust-Overture, the B♭ piano concerto, and some songs (chorus?, songs?), saying that he would prefer a Bechstein to a Blüthner piano, that he can bring the parts for the [Fourth] Symphony from Cologne, and adding that the program might gain in appeal if someone else's music were substituted for his own.
